Firewood by the Face Cord

Firewood by the face cord is an excellent option for cooking, occasional heating, bonfires, as well as other small wood-burning needs. We suggest face cords if you don’t have enough space to store large amounts of logs. Our standard firewood pieces are approximately 16” long and up to 6”-7” in diameter. A face cord has the following dimensions: 4 feet high, 8 feet long, and 16” in depth. It provides one-third of full cord volume. If the standard 16″ length doesn’t suit your needs, we’ll be happy to custom-cut to 12″-20″ lengths.

Types of Firewood by Face Cord Available

We offer fine softwood firewood harvested from local forests. Thanks to varying properties, our firewood mixes are able to meet a wide range of wood-burning needs.

Douglas Fir and Larch mix is perhaps the best conifer firewood. Due to its great heating value and prolonged burn, this fuelwood is an optimal option for heating. On top of that, Douglas Fir and Larch burn clean and produce little ash. They make excellent firewood for stoves and fireplaces thanks to a pleasant aroma and minimal cracking.

Pine, Lodgepole, and Spruce mix is an economical choice for occasional wood burning. We recommend it for campfires and outdoor use. This softwood produces a nice roaring fire that smells nice, has hot flames, leaves little ash, but doesn’t burn too long.

Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Firewood in Flathead County

We obtain firewood locally from sustainable sources. It comes from logging companies, which cut down dead-standing trees. While not good enough for mills, they make excellent wood fuel. These trees/logs continue drying naturally for up to 1.5 years until they get low in moisture (10-18%). Then, they are cut down and placed into wood-processing machines able to handle multiple 40’ trees at once. These machines cut logs into 16” pieces (other lengths are also available on request) and split them 4-6 ways. After that, the wood is ready for delivery to your home.
